He promised to leave me alone, but that was a lie. I should have known he’d have this pull on meβ€”seeping through my skin and into my bones, burning me from the outside in. It’s just like when we were kids, and I can no longer avoid him. I’ve accepted it, but what will it take to convince him that I am no longer his? Is that really what I want?
I told her I’d leave her alone. But who was I kidding? I’ve never been one to back away from a challenge. He stole my girlβ€”my futureβ€”from me. I’m coming back with a vengeance. I’m taking back what he took from me. After all the secrets and lies, can we come back from this? Even if it breaks me, I’ll stop at nothing to protect what’s always been mine.

4 star review
I was gifted an ARC copy of this book via Give Me Books for an honest review.
I read all 3 of these books back to back so my review will reflect that.
I honestly couldn’t put them down, I felt so sorry for both of them over the course of these books.
Raising Ryann was mainly Reese’s story and basically a history lesson. Finding out how Reese and Luke knew each other as kids then meeting again 5 years later. Both of them had pretty shitty home lives to be honest and even as an older teenager you could feel Lukes protectiveness. When they meet again as adults sparks fly and although Luke still feels very protective over Reese he learns that she can look after herself. I love the dynamics between the 2 of them and although the twist in this book made me very grateful that I had the next one to read straight away I couldn’t believe it happened!!
Resisting Ryann is book 2 and less about Resee and Lukes relationship Β (mainly because of events in the last book they don’t have much of one) it’s more about Luke and how he grew up and things. Luke pulls away from Reese and you hear very little from her about this. It’s mainly focused on Luke and after completing what he needed too ends up with heartache for both him and Reese but for seperate reasons. Be warned!
Breaking Ryann ….. Book 3 and lots of heartache, sadness and misunderstandings and mid communications. Reese is a subborn little thing at times which nearly costs her and Luke any chance at a HEA.Β Reese has since moved on from her relationship with Luke because she doesn’t know why they drifted apart in the first place. Meaning Luke has some major explaining and groveling to do.Β I thought this would be the conclusion of their story told nice and simply all wrapped up in a pretty bow (<<< maybe not quite like that but you get the drift) HA! How wrong was I. Although Luke and Reese do get their relationship back on track (and boy do they) there was one final plot twist and event I didn’t see coming til it was too late and I felt like I was on a white knuckle ride!!
These may have been a first for me from this particular author but you can bet you bottom dollar they won’t be the last and I will look forward to whatever comes next from her.
